I am an Assistant Professor of Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

My major research areas involve syntax and phonology, focusing on cross-linguistic variation and universals in the nominal and the adjectival domain, pitch-accent and the interaction of syntax and phonology in the context of various accentual phenomena, prosodic realizations of morphosyntactic properties, etc.

Before coming to Illinois, I received a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Connecticut, and a bachelor's degree in teaching English as a foreign language at the University of Zenica (Department of English Language and Literature, Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina).
